Ms. Tumuhaise Phionah
RF 2022I am Tumuhaise Phionah, A Ugandan graduate student of Master of Arts Gender Studies, Makerere University. I am a Research Assistant at Nascent Research and Development Center. I am also a peer trainer for Makerere University female Undergraduate Students on sexual harassment and prevention measures. I am passionate about women and human rights.

Ms. Elizabeth Atuheire
RF 2022Ms. Elizabeth is a hardworking resilient young lady. She is a graduand waiting to graduate in February 2023, with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Social Sciences, with a major in Gender and Development Studies and a minor in Sociology. She is a founder and Director of "YOHEP UGANDA", a newly founded organisation which looks at inclusivity of SRHR for both women and men. Having trained with CRIMM (Critical Research in Men and Masculinities) Research Center, on Introduction to critical reading and writing, Elizabeth looks forward to leveraging her experience in Feminist Research and men's studies at large. Elizabeth Atuheire’s recent research is a 2022 December Dissertation entitled Social and Gender norms related to dress code as a driver of sexual harassment: A case Study of Makerere University, Uganda. This is partial fulfilment of the award of BA Social Sciences
Ms. Doreen Bakeiha
RF 2022Ms Doreen Bakeiha is a female Ugandan, passionate about gender transformation for the achievement of an equal society. She is a Senior Gender Officer, Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development. Doreen is a seasoned civil servant with over 15 years serving Government of Uganda in different capacities. Central to her work has been programming for the most vulnerable categories of people in society, to improve their well being through initiatives that enable them explore their full potential. She has worked with youth, women and persons with disabilities in both rural and urban contexts, initiating relevant programmes geared towards economic empowerment, participation in leadership and decision making and sexual reproductive health.
Doreen aspires for a world where men, women, boys and girls thrive in harmony, respecting one another as equal human beings with equal rights and entitlements. Her recent graduate research as Master of Arts Student in Gender Studies at Makerere University is on Women’s Economic Empowerment

Ms. Esther Muhoza
RF 2022Ms. Esther Muhoza is a graduate of Gender Studies at Makerere University (BA (SS) 2022, a gender activist who is passionate about being a voice to the voiceless. She has a three-year-experience in supporting children survivors of sexual violence in the path of pursuing Justice, healing and safety. She believes that children’s rights should be protected, and every child needs a mentor in life to help them in making right choices in life. Her training in Critical research focused on researching the needs and interests of children survivors of sexual violence.
Ms. Dorothy Amuron
RF 2022Ms. Dorothy Amuron is a human rights advocate with over 10 years of humanitarian advocacy with a niche on women & girls rights advocacy, key populations, sexual minorities and health rights for all. She believes that all human beings are born equal and should be treated with the principles of equality across the globe. people should be able to access information, services, legal justice irrespective of their gender, social, economic or political status. An injustice on any human being is an injustice to all humanity thus no one should normalize discrimination in any form!
Ms. Ariao Grace
RF 2022Ms. Ariao Grace Immaculate is a human rights activist, especially children and women. She is a young practitioner in the field of child protection for 4 years. She believes that all children - girls and boys have equal rights, free from child labour, have access to education, good health, and freedom to participate as children. It is her responsibility to lobby and advocate for the well being of all children in the globe
Ms. Doreen Nyanjura
RF 2022Ms. Doreen Nyanjura is the Deputy Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City. She is serving her second term both as Deputy Lord Mayor and as the elected Local Council 5 (LCV) Woman Councilor, representing Makerere University at Kampala Capital City Authority, the governing body of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. She is an author, Gender Scholar at Makerere University and an Activist in the fight for Women, Youth and PWDs rights. She has been involved in the struggle for political and social change in Uganda for over ten years now.
Ms. Kobusingye Gartrude
RF 2022Ms. Kobusingye Gartrude is critical, analytical thinker, self-driven, determined and has visionary plus acceptable working ethics. A critical young researcher in the field of women and gender studies plus men and masculinities. She is a Research Assistant on the project entitled “Archiving, memory and method from the global south project”. The project seeks to work with national and community archives to reimagine past memories on men and marriage in ways that challenge and undermine both the colonial distortions and omissions of African historical narratives, studying African experiences through archives has the potential to retrieve repressed knowledge on men and masculinities and contribute towards theorizing masculinities from the global south. She participated as a Rapporteur in an international conference on Gender studies in Africa Feb 23rd -25th 2022.
